Fane prides itself on delivering a line-up that offers something for everyone and can be accessed by anyone, anywhere. Highlights from its 2022 hybrid events programme have included over 70 dates at venues across the UK for astronaut Tim Peake, Candice Carty-Williams’s book launch at Peckham Plex, live recordings for Elizabeth Day’s hit podcast How To Fail, 20 tour dates with Graham Norton to celebrate his new novel, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend an evening with Dame Judi Dench. Highlights from its online programme included Viola Davis, Nigel Slater, Malala Yousafzai, Brit Bennett & Okechukwu Nzelu, and Madeline Miller. Outside of the UK, Fane has offices in Sydney and operates in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
lit.cologne was founded in Cologne in 2001 and is now one of the largest literature festi- vals in Europe with more than 100,000 visitors and up to 200 events each year. With other festival formats such as phil.cologne and lit.RUHR, lit.COLOGNE has very successfully expanded its activities in recent years and has an extensive and very stable network of partners. The live formats include traditional author readings, dramaturgically staged versions as well as a meeting of minds and conversations between great authors and actors. in recent years, many national and international stars have been guests, including T. C. Boyle, Bret Easton Ellis, Susan Sontag, Karl Lagerfeld, Daniel Kehlmann, Jonathan Franzen, John Irving. Juli Zeh, Henning Mankell, Patti Smith, Herbert Grönemeyer, Matthias Brandt, Iris Berben, Charles Aznavour, Doris Lessing and Christoph Waltz. In 2021, lit.COLOGNE was successfully staged for the first time as a digital edition due to the pandemic, with a total of 54 events. In 2023, the 23nd edition of lit.COLOGNE will be staged with nearly 170 events.
